This was keen! I merely used chicken instead of beef, and halved the sugar. I also left out the soy sauce and garlic, along with non having any green onions, and so I left them out likewise. Basically I simply made fried craven. (Non really, only this is how all the comments are on allrecipes anymore, then I didn't want to stand out.)

Splendid. I eliminated the bowls altogether. Reduce soy sauce and brown sugar to ane/2 cup, increase water to 1 1/2 cups Put corn starch and steak strips into a sealable baggie and milkshake to glaze. Add all other ingredients (except carrots) to crock pot and mix. Stir in coated steak until all pieces are covered. Cook on high for 2 hours. After 2 hours add together carrots and continue cooking for 1 more hour .

This is a fantastic recipe westward modifications. I used 1/2 cup soy sauce; 1/2 cup loosely packed dark-brown sugar, plenty cornstarch to completely coat the meat (I used triangle steak) and nearly 2 cups of water to get the right thickness. An hour earlier serving time, I added one cup shredded carrots, one sliced onion and i sliced pepper. Yummy.

This is one of the best slow cooker recipes I have made in a long fourth dimension. Both in terms of ease and quality. Reduced the brown sugar to ane/2 cup per many suggestions, and I recall this was fine, although I doubtable it would have been just fine as originally directed. I also substituted a flat iron steak for the flank steak because the flanks were all two pounds or more. I've grilled flatirons quite a chip and knew they would be similar, plus they were cheaper. I cut the steak into strips before the cornstarch footstep. This gave more than surface area to be coated with the cornstarch, although I am not sure why it is even necessary to coat the meat as the marinade surely washed it off. It probably could but be whisked into the soy mixture at the beginning. Merely I followed instructions except used a gallon zilch lock back to milk shake the beef for coating. I marinated in the aforementioned bag I used to shake information technology upward with the cornstarch. The whole concoction fit easily in my 2.5Q slow cooker. (I wish all dull cooker recipes would tell y'all what size yous need. Sometimes I guess too small and wind upwardly having to transfer to a bigger slow cooker, and nothing aggravates me more than dirtying up dish for no expert reason and then having to wash information technology.) I checked it at near ii:30 and it was not tender. Merely by two:45 some marvelous chemic or thermodynamic reaction had taken identify and it was just perfectly tender and flavorful. Served on jasmine rice.

This rating is for Stephen Spradley'due south review. I laughed out loud! I practice believe he is making fun of all the people who completely alter a recipe and then give it a poor rating! If you completely modify a recipe, yous shouldn't rate it at all, permit lone give information technology a poor rating. Yes, we all make our own modifications to our personal preferences and that's fine. Cudo's to y'all Stephen!!

This recipe was not bad, but it needs to accept the sugar content cut back. I subbed one-half of three/4 cup Splenda brown sugar mix for 3/iv cup regular brown carbohydrate, but information technology was very sweetness (and I like sweet in my marinades). Side by side fourth dimension I will try 1/3 loving cup regular brown sugar (or one-half of a one/3 cup if using Splenda brown saccharide alloy). Other than that, information technology is a Bang-up weeknight repast when served with Jasmine rice (w/ a niggling sesame oil and common salt added when cooking) and roasted broccoli florets (mixed due west/ a little sesame oil and salt and and so roasted at 400 for roughly ten minutes).
03/18/2015
Probably ane of my favorite mongolian beef for the deadening cooker. For the next time though, I would either use depression sodium soy sauce or lessen it; Command the sweet for you liking. I did not use the carrots considering I was using the carrots to our side dish. Of course, you may add onions and cerise bell peppers for the final 60 minutes or so....
01/08/2017
My husband who cooks a lot is very difficult to please, after 1 bite he told me to make this over again. I followed the recipe exactly , and it was fantastic.
06/05/2016
It looks good and I desire to endeavor it. This may be a stupid question: do y'all piece the flank steak before marinating or after cooking? Thanks in advance! I promise I can come back and revise my rating if I need to!
03/14/2016
wonderful with a few changes to taste. Halved the sugar and would probably do less adjacent fourth dimension and too halved the soy sauce. Increased h2o to make up the difference. OMG proficient!
05/04/2016
This recipe was very good merely next time I won't add a cherry-red pepper or onion, equally a previous reviewer had done. The extra vegetables released a lot of h2o into the sauce and, in my stance, made it too diluted. I prefer a richer, more than concentrated sauce. It was served over rice noodles. I merely added 1/3 cup brown sugar, and used depression sodium soy sauce. Definitely will make it again.
11/13/2016
I made this for out-of-town company and followed the recipe to a "T". Information technology was SO like shooting fish in a barrel and perfect to make when entertaining overnight company. To say they LOVED it would be an understatement. With each seize with teeth, they couldn't resist commenting on how delicious information technology was. (I served this with white rice and an asian slaw salad.) The flavor is full and HARDLY lacking. Possibly the reviewer who thought this dish lacked flavor didn't marinate long plenty? I believe the key thing is to ensure the meat is marinated for at least 24 hours, and so plan alee. This is KEEPER!
02/xvi/2016
Excellent recipe! I cut the carbohydrate down to a half cup because I don't like my meat likewise sugariness and information technology was amazing!! Definitely a keeper at our business firm
05/21/2015
I didn't freeze this first, only made it with fresh meat and followed the residuum of the recipe to a T. Nosotros all liked this overall, but I agree with moaa that it is also salty. I think next fourth dimension, I'll take her (his?) suggestion and add together some onion and scarlet bell pepper for the terminal hour.
06/06/2016
Wonderful flavour with very tender meat. The just changes that I made were using one/4 cup maple syrup instead of dark-brown sugar, one/2 tsp basis ginger because I did not take ginger root. I also thickened with ii tbsp cornstarch dissolved in water, turned the tedious cooker on loftier for 10 min. Served on rice noodles.
08/07/2016
This is a good recipe, but I do agree with many other reviewers that it is a good idea to utilise one-half the amount of soy and sugar and then make upwards the difference in the amount of liquid with h2o. I skipped the whole freezer footstep, and just made the marinade in the crockpot with the add-on of a generous T of sesame seeds. Shook the beef strips and cornstarch together in a ziplock pocketbook, and so added the coated meat to the crockpot. Cooked on depression for 3 hours, which was enough. Besides, I stirred every hour to make sure all the meat strips were evenly cooked. Definitely recommend serving over rice. Yum!
06/06/2016
Great stuff! My family of men loved it served over rice! I did as others and cutting back on the soy sauce and saccharide. Plus my guys like lots of sauce then I 1 ane/2 it plus they honey spicey so I added 2 teaspoons of garlic chillie sauce found in the Asian department.
05/06/2016
Excellent favor, piece of cake to prepare and succulent. The but item I added was a hot chili paste. Just I add together that to everything. Lol. Great recipe!
06/04/2017
I have not yet tried this recipe, only after reading several reviews, a few changes occur to me. As about were proverb, reducing the soy and sugar quantities seem to be preferred. At that place were also comments about how cooking the vegetables with the meat, fifty-fifty the last hour, releases too much liquid resulting in thin sauce. What near roasting the vegetables separately while the meat cooks? They generally take effectually an hour to an hr and a half to roast and there's almost a half hour prep time for them. After the meat is cooked and the veggies are roasted, they can be mixed together to coat the veggies with the sauce. This is how I'll do it when I gear up my version. Should piece of work well. Stan

Just finished having this for dinner. My hubby and I thought this was very good.. I followed the directions equally written with the exception of using the unabridged agglomeration of greenish onions. I also added a ruby and xanthous pepper during the last thirty minutes as we are trying to increase our vegetable intake. I did non freeze this but fabricated information technology immediately. I volition be making this again. Very like shooting fish in a barrel and tasty.
06/10/2016
I cut back on both the soy sauce and sugar, as others suggested (used ane/2 loving cup soy sauce, 1/3 loving cup carbohydrate), and I increased the water to one one/2 cups to add liquid. I cooked on high for two hours, then added 1 cup shredded carrots, and about three/4 cup fresh broccoli, cutting into minor florets, and allow it go on high for some other hour. Served over rice. Hubby said it was skillful, and a have-once again repast. It was certainly easy!
05/29/2016
This meal turned out pretty nicely. Like others are saying, I put in less soy and brown saccharide than chosen for. I also did non do the frozen marination footstep, which would likely have helped the taste. Still, even with near threescore minutes of marination fourth dimension, I idea this dish turned out well.
01/08/2017
Succulent! I as well cutting the carbohydrate to 1/two cup, added 1 T. grated ginger and the juice of an orange. I also added fresh broccoli for the last one-half hour.
04/21/2017
This definitely had good flavor, only needed a little dial. Used beef broth instead of water and added fresh vegetables during the last hr producing more 'liquid' sauce than I had predictable. A quick slurry of sesame oil, garlic chili paste and corn starch remedied it and information technology was on the table in no time. Family gave thumbs upwardly! Thank you for sharing Stephanie!
05/twenty/2016
So easy to make and sooo tasty! Will be making this again real soon!!
06/06/2016
Well the only alter I fabricated was that I had to cull a dissimilar cut of beef. I could not find flank steak in the Market place I shop at but everything else is exactly the same. I but didn't freeze information technology, I cooked it right away. Coincidentally I am in American teacher living in Beijing, China and I'm always looking for recipes for my irksome cooker. And then I decided to try this!
06/11/2016
My girl served this at a dinner she hosted, it was soooooo great that I have served it even my husband loves it !!! Just followed recipe. Then like shooting fish in a barrel tasty and economical.
06/22/2016
I really loved this recipe and plan to make it again (and once again and again). However, I added about ii TBLS of minced ginger and almost 1/iv cup ketchup. Likewise, when I went to purchase flank steak it was $23 for a pound and a one-half. They had a round steak on sale for under $half dozen... you lot guessed it. The round steak merely melted in our mouths.
05/xviii/2017
Since I was cooking for but 2, I simply had near ane.one lbs of meat. I had to use a different cut of meat that was labeled and cut into strips for stir-fry. It ended up a little tough later cooking on high for two hours. I used low sodium soy sauce, and the cutting it and the carbohydrate to about 1/2 cup. I put the cornstarch in a gallon Ziploc and shook it up with the meat to coat, then added the soy sauce, sugar, ginger, garlic and flake of water. I let that marinade overnight in refrigerator since I was cooking it the side by side day. I stir-fried onions, dark-green peppers and tomatoes separately because my other half won't swallow whatsoever veggies. I served his over rice, and mine over veggies. It was succulent! Definitely will brand once again! Oh, I sprinkled red pepper flakes on mine!
06/04/2017
I made no changes, and my family loves information technology!! I serve information technology with jasmine rice and steamed broccoli and it is a hit. I have fabricated it three times and it always turns out perfectly!
01/26/2016
I halved the meat in the recipe only kept the other ingredients the same as I wanted the gravy. I reduced the soy sauce a fiddling scrap too much though. I also cut down on the sugar, based on the comments of the other reviewers, this was fine. I liked the taste very much and volition make over again.
02/09/2017
My husband thinks this is the all-time wearisome cooker recipe I have ever made. I didn't freeze the mixture start, but I did marinate it for 24 hours in the fridge. I too heeded the advice of other reviewers and cutting dorsum on the soy sauce and the sugar. The beef was tender and flavorful. I remember I will keep a couple of bags of this in the freezer.
01/13/2017
Fabulous! I made it merely as the recipe is written and it was wonderful. I cooked for 5 hours on low in the crockpot. Information technology was the most tender steak I take had. I did use flat iron because the store didn't have flank steak. I used ii pounds and between myself and two teenage boys in that location wasn't a morsel left.
06/05/2016
Tasty... Also as others said I reduced carbohydrate and soy sauce to a i/2 cup and increased water. Also I advise using reduced sodium soy sauce to lessen the saltiness.
06/x/2016
I would definitely put less brown sugar in and out pepper flakes in to spice it upwards.
03/05/2017
I put the cutting up meat in a plastic purse with cornstarch and shook to completely cover. I put the residual of the ingredients straight into the crockpot and mixed and then added the meat, turned on the crockpot and cooked 6 hours. Was very good and easy.
03/29/2017
GOOD We enjoyed very much. I addded carrots and used Round steak. Then Peachy to brand fresh and freeze. Like shooting fish in a barrel to thaw and Wearisome Cook. Easily last minute visitor dish.
07/06/2018
Over again, a smashing recipe idea, but WHY add sugar to ruin it. Traditional/authentic Mongolian Beef does not use any saccharide, and certainly nowhere near every bit much as this recipe calls for.
01/07/2017
Was actually nice just a little to sweet for my liking so when I cook this again I will put in less saccharide.
04/28/2017
Thanks to previous reviews, I cut back on the salt and saccharide, and simply marinated for a few hours before cooking. Fantastic. Thumbs up all the way around the table.
06/05/2016
follow Jenny's suggestion add i tablespoon chili powder quarter teaspoon cayenne pepper and you tin substitute beloved for brown sugar if you wish
07/23/2017
Will non make this again. Fabricated it exactly as written in the recipe, and it comes out nothing like Mongolian beef from a restaurant. It looks and tastes more like an Asian-flavored beef stew. It is WAY too saucy. A good Mongolian beefiness should accept a slight char on it, and a impact of sugariness sauce. Like most meats in a slow cooker, this beef completely fell autonomously and drowned in the sauce. As my married man put information technology, this dish tasted similar every other tedious cooker dish that uses soy sauce and brown sugar every bit primary sauce ingredients. Won't make this i again.
02/07/2016
I usa pork , I used lod sodium soy sauce . Came out good. Information technology was expert over rice. Thank you for the recipe I added pineapple and pineapple juice to one bag to endeavour
02/xv/2017
Used 1/4 c soy and brownish sugar, layered the beef and cornstarch in slow cooker. Served over chocolate-brown rice topped with sautéed napa cabbage and carrot stir fry. They loved it!
08/21/2016
I fabricated this yesterday. I mixed all the ingredients in a ziplock handbag, mixed it well and put information technology in the crockpot (skipped the freezing step). And information technology turned out dandy. Adjacent time I'm going to steam up some broccoli and it volition be just like the broccoli beefiness I order at the Chinese restaurant.
03/27/2017
An easy and squeamish dish
03/27/2017
Cornstarch: Next time I won't utilize information technology even tho I did check other recipes on line and that was used to dredge the meat. The meat tasted of cornstarch. I cutting the amount of chocolate-brown sugar by half. The carrots are naturally sweet and they cooked into a nice sauce. They were never meant to be a vegetable in this recipe - my stance. Didn't have dark-green onions so I used 1/4 of a sweet onion. To correct the taste of cornstarch, I took the meat out of the sauce and put it in a pan of soy sauce, beef goop and water. That helped a lot. Nosotros ate it over rice.
04/26/2016
I found the finished product to be both likewise sugariness and too salty for my gustation. Otherwise it was quite gustation.
06/thirteen/2016
The meat was very tender simply the flavour was a little lacking. I made two bags - one to make and gustation the flavour, the other to conform if necessary and freeze. I have added some hoisin sauce to the freezer handbag and will try it at a after date.
01/21/2017
Omgosh so proficient! I used flap steak that was already frozen and but dredged information technology in the corn starch and popped information technology in the crock with all the other ingredients didn't have green onions or ginger but information technology was so bomb regardless. Used the low setting instructions
05/13/2019
I completely forgot most the marinating portion of the instructions just it didn't matter. This dish was absolutely delicious without it. All I did was dump the liquid mixture into the crockpot.
03/21/2017
I fabricated the original recipe, only thought it was too sweetness. This time I only used 1/3 cup of soy sauce, one/3 cup brown sugar and simply 1/3 of a cup of h2o. I used the dark-green onions in crockpot, just also topped it with fresh green onions when serving. I didn't use cornstarch and it yet tasted fabled.
12/21/2016
Omitted the carrots, added one/2 onion, green pepper and mushrooms!
01/xix/2017
excellent, I made this exactly equally written. I didn't freeze it and used a ziplock handbag for mixing. The merely thing I will modify adjacent time is to use reduced sodium soy sauce and merely cook information technology 4hours on low. Thanks for sharing!
01/23/2017
A little sweet. I would recommend reducing the brown saccharide by a quarter to half of the directions
06/06/2016
Extremely easy to make and was delicious.
01/02/2019
Crawly. We cooked ours in our pressure cooker and turned out great.
06/16/2016
made it exactly like the recipie,it was skilful ,but way besides sugariness!
04/03/2017
Loved the concept! Made it, though used our spicy, bootleg teriyaki sauce:) Added veggies last xx minutes to maintain crispness.
06/09/2017
Sauce kind a boring. Side by side time I will add more veggies and red pepper flakes.
08/30/2019
It was astonishing how easy a restaurant quality meal was to gear up. I followed to the t and it was awesome.
01/03/2017
Tasted good. I idea it was a flake "greasy"
06/07/2017
Made this today every bit written except I apply low sodium soy sauce. During the cooking, notwithstanding, I found this cooks downwards A LOT, then I fabricated an actress batch of the marinade. Also, wasn't able to find flank steak, so used skirt steak instead, cut it into strips. Almost cooked it *too* long (3 hours), then 2 hours would've worked ameliorate. Served it with white rice, but almost any type of pasta would work, too. Think I'll add a flake of red pepper flakes adjacent time for a little "nip" to the taste buds. All in all, though, the recipe is a "keeper".
06/12/2016
Made this today for Sunday dinner and it was a big hit with my daughter, her boyfriend and my wife. I used about ii.5 lbs of flank steak (for leftovers) and added 3 cups of h2o and more shredded carrots but other than that left he brown sugar, soy sauce, etc... the same. Substituted Splenda brownish sugar.
07/xx/2016
I'll make this dish again for certain. I only used one/two cup soy sauce and ane/two cup carbohydrate. I besides used 1 1/2 cups of water. Next time I'll merely use 1/3 cup of sugar or less. Depends on how sweet yous similar the meat.
12/12/2017
This is delicious and so easy. I've made information technology most 5 times, but have never managed to plan well enough that I make the marinade and throw the whole thing in the freezer. I make this recipe and put information technology in the slow cooker right away. It ever turns out really well. I've made it with unlike cuts of meat and every single time, it'due south been really good. We like it with cooked broccoli rather than the shredded carrots. I exercise cut dorsum a little on the saccharide as that seemed similar a good suggestion.
06/06/2017
This recipe was fantastic! As shortly equally nosotros finished dinner, 1 of my kids said, "will you make this again presently?" I served this over Chinese rice noodles. As some other reviewer suggested I used a flat fe steak and I really pounded information technology out before slicing it into strips. I will probably add a petty less soy sauce next time (are used low sodium soy sauce), a tad scrap more dark-brown sugar, and probably a cup of h2o instead of 3/four of a cup. Definitely worth making and it took a very niggling time!
04/26/2017
Bang-up! Made as written! Yum.
08/23/2019
This recipe is neat equally is. My family loved it. Served over Jasmine rice.
06/xxx/2017
WOW!!! This was so good that we tin't wait to brand information technology once again.
06/10/2016
Wonderful meal for invited friends, splendid taste.
06/14/2016
Piece of cake to make and anybody enjoyed it. Great flavor!
06/07/2017
Excellent. I will definitely be making this again.
02/26/2019
To sweet. I will brand it again just cut downwards on the sugar.
06/21/2017
This is a not bad receipt for using what you have as far as vegies. I did use skirt steak as circular has no season
07/09/2017
This came out SO delicious!!! I volition acknowledge, I cut back on the soy sauce as it seemed similar a lot, but other than that, I stayed pretty true to the recipe and information technology was wonderful. My husband absolutely loved the flavor and is already asking me to make this ane once more.
04/09/2017
I used ginger powder it worked out fine also my beefiness was stew type and that was great. Husband loved it I'm not a beefeater but tasted it and it was yummy! May attempt shrimp(colossal) side by side time. Cooked information technology for at least 5 hours. It was tender and cook in your mouth! Flavours were awesome!
11/04/2016
This is now my wife's favorite! When we go out for Chinese food this is what she orders and now we do not demand to go out considering she similar it meliorate! Served over rice and add together green onions and we are dining out!
04/02/2017
I did non similar this recipe at all, too much soy for our tastes. The recipe was non clear on sure aspects of prep either, I sliced the flank steak prior to cooking it, so with the type of sauce it was, it turned to mush before the iii hr cook time was up. This recipe was aught like the Mongolian Beef I take had in the by, many years ago. I realized that when I had it concluding, the beef was cooked on a grill kind of like they did at a long ago popular restaurant, the ane with knives flying in the air..... Anyway this was entirely different and I won't be fixing it once more.
08/28/2016
This was but ok. It smelled good while cooking simply was bland when information technology was done. To many adept recipes out at that place so this 1 is off the list.
08/08/2016
This is a recipe to call up. Information technology isn't very different than other mandarine dishes I know, only the jump onions in the marinade made the departure (made me brand a leap onion ice-cream). I changed the liquids amounts to 1.5 cups of h2o, 1/two cup of soy and carbohydrate each. I besides recommend to add much more vegetables - carrots and maybe potatoes every bit well. Perfect yum.
05/09/2017
Really practiced and very easy to brand! I added chili flakes for an extra boot.??
08/02/2020
Very adept recipe, I followed tips from others, and cutting down the brownish sugar to 1/2 cup, and cut down the soy sauce to 1/2 cup. At that place was plenty of sauce, and not to sweet or salty.
06/06/2017
A trivial salty for us. Next time I'll change the soy/brown saccharide ratio and meet how that works.
03/29/2017
I've never had Mongolian Beefiness before so I'm actually not sure how information technology compares. I didn't take any cornstarch so I used flour. I besides cut the saccharide down. (I know I didn't follow the recipe) I besides used depression sodium soy sauce still I constitute the recipe to exist a also salty for me. The beef was tender, I served it over riced cauliflower. Not certain if I'd go far once more, but it was definitely piece of cake & tasty.
01/thirty/2018
Wonderful recipe. The only change I made was using half and one-half regular soy sauce and lite (this is not sodium reduced) soy sauce. This has a great taste and then like shooting fish in a barrel to brand.
06/13/2018
It turned out amazing.
04/04/2017
No changes and I will make it once more.
06/05/2017
I besides institute this recipe way besides salty. I actually thought it sounded like too much before I put information technology together, then I halved the soy sauce. I also dialled down the sugar to balance. I nonetheless found this as well salty. Perhaps as was suggested by another, low sodium soy sauce would be ameliorate. Will have to run across. I ended up sieving one-half the cooked beefiness and rinsing information technology and and then using a slotted spoon for the rest, and spooned it into some wok stir fried veggies and serving over rice noodels. This helped distribute the table salt (the other ingredients needed a heave which I deliberately had left off knowing how salty the sauce and meat was.) All in all, this was an okay recipe, but it really does need tweaking to exist palatable.
07/xiv/2016
Made this upwards camping ground in the Dutch oven and it turned out well. I would take only recommend to add more water to brand a sauce to put on top.
01/28/2018
should take followed others advice, this really was also salty and sweet, I recommend more water, less sugar and a low sodium soy. Beloved this recipe otherwise as you can prep the meat and marinate when you bring the meat home, and merely throw in the boring cooker whenever you lot're fix to savor. For those who similar some heat, I would try other suggestions to add together Cayenne or other pepper, this recipe should be skilful for information technology.
06/30/2016
My family loved it. I also reduced the soy sauce and dark-brown sugar. I skipped the marinating stride. Just threw everything in the crock pot. Turned out peachy
06/eleven/2020
Followed recipe except used 2lbs of flank steak, cook ii hours in high and so 2 hours low in the crock pot. I steamed frozen broccoli in microwave(cut florets smaller) and add together to sauce the concluding 10 minutes. My kids really commented they would like more than broccoli next time. Ate over rice and it was succulent! Others cut down in the sugar ( I meant to for health reasons and I don't like sweet dinners) simply information technology was not actually sweetness .... delicious served over rice. Volition brand again just next time I will try using peak sirloin / London bake.
03/26/2017
WAY, WAY, WAY too sugariness...too much dark-brown sugar..I'd go with 1/4 loving cup..threw information technology out..and so did my friend...
12/12/2017
Most the end, add broccoli florets and you have a fantastic beef and broccoli dinner. I served information technology over white rice and the family unit loved information technology.
06/12/2016
This was the best version of this recipie that I have e'er eaten. I would make no chances.
08/21/2018
I dearest this recipe. I added a scrap more soy sauce and ane TBS of A1 sauce. It rocks!!!
09/20/2017
This turned out pretty good. I didn't marinade the meat, every bit the instructions suggested. I sliced and seasoned the meat, cooked it in my crockpot on low for 1 hour. Then I added the marinade (soy sauce, worcestershire, Henz 57, and 1 cup of brown saccharide, which I whisked in a bowl.) I cooked that for another hour on low. And so at 60 minutes three, I added 4 sliced green peppers and 3 onions, and cooked for 2 more hours on depression. The meat was super tender and tasted great. Now more going to the Golden Pavilion - I've got this....
07/28/2017
Everyone was very pleased with the flavour profile and tenderness of the meat. I will brand this again, not just because information technology was easy, just considering it is a really good dish. I basically followed the recipe - yet, I used 2 lbs. of flank steak, about a cup of shredded carrots, and more spring onions and a large sweet onion. Things I would practice the next fourth dimension: 1) dice upwardly the shredded carrots in much smaller pieces (the ones I used were prepackaged and about two" long); 2) add more leap onions; three) look until the last i.5 hours (cooking on low) to add the big onion (which I sliced and cut to make long strings) - hopefully this will allow the onion strings to maintain some caste of firmness; 4) we would like the sauce to be thicker, so I may either mix some additional corn starch with the water; or remove the sauce from the crockpot into a sauce pan estrus and add cornstarch to achieve the desired thickness; and last, my wife wants me to piece the meat much thinner.
